The SmartSquid Nature Magazine is a bi-annual, not for profit project with the purpose of encouraging children from all backgrounds, living in all areas of the UK, to connect with nature in some way.
I’ve saved a portion of profits from past collections and to ensure this mini-magazine will reach as many people as possible, if you are in a financial position to do so, you can order a copy for £4 here. This will not only pay for your copy but will cover the cost of printing and shipping more magazines to people who may not be able to afford one right now. There is also the option to donate if you would like to support the project.
So far, the magazines are being distributed for free through partnerships with various charities. FareShare South West have included the magazine in food packages to families, it’s also been sent to a children’s hospital ward, to vulnerable families across Bristol with the help of the Children’s Scrapstore Bristol, to children participating in holiday activities with Children With Voices Hackney and they’ve also been included in free packed lunches over the school holidays thanks to the Duke of Richmond pub. If you know of any charities/hospitals/food banks that may like some free copies to distribute pease let me know!
